What is PSC Clerkship?

PSC Clerkship is an examination conducted to select candidates for clerical jobs under the state government in different departments like the Secretariat, Directorates, and various other district offices.

What is the Age limit of PSC Clerkship exam?

According to the official recruitment notification, applicants ages must be between 20 and 39. For candidates from a specific community group, there will be some age relaxation. The age relaxation will be 5 years for ST and SC candidates, up to 44 years, 3 years for OBC candidates, up to 42 years, and an additional 10 years for PWD candidates.

PSC Clerkship exam pattern!!

The Wbpsc clerkship 2024 examination consists of two stages: part 1 and part 2.

Part 1 of the examination consists of 100 objective-type questions out of a total of 100. English, general study, and arithmetic are the subjects included in the wbpsc exam, which lasts 90 minutes. Each incorrect answer will result in a penalty of 0.25 marks. 

Part 2 of the test includes descriptive questions, with group A including questions in English and group B containing questions in Bengali, Hindi, Urdu, and Nepali/Santal. Each group has 50-mark questions and a 60-minute time limit.

What are the eligibility criteria for PSC Clerkship Exam?

Candidates are required to have a bachelor’s degree from a recognised institute or an equivalent qualification. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and no more than 40 years old.

What is the education qualification PSC Clerkship Exam?

The candidate must have passed the Madhyamik Examination from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education, or any state board or CBSE. The applicant must be able to read, write, and talk in Bengali. Candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali are exempt from this criterion. The candidate must be up-to-date on national and international current affairs.

What is the salary structure of a WBPSC clerk?

The basic salary for WBPSC clerkship employees is between RS 22700 and RS 25,000. In addition to their salary, clerkship applicants are eligible for DA, medical allowance, and housing rent allowance.
